Monthly Spotlight on a Manpower Employee

Suzanne Rossi What do you do? My role at manpower is as a Business Manager with MBN Queensland. Where are you based? I am lucky to be based out of the beautiful Sunshine Coast, 2 hours north of Brisbane in Maroochydore. Maroochydore is one of the coastal towns that makes up the Sunshine Coast. The population of 276,300 is supported by mainly small to medium enterprise with the key employment sectors being Building and Construction and Café Restaurants. Our Manpower office is ground floor shop front giving us great exposure to the passing foot and vehicle traffic.

What do you enjoy most about working at Manpower?
I enjoy the challenge of helping our clients solve pressing issues and the rewards that come with placing a variety of candidates in roles. Every day provides new and different challenges.

Briefly describe your normal day?
No day is the same at Manpower!! One day I can be managing and coaching my team, the next will be sales and solving clients issues, the day after that educating candidates that are new to the Sunshine Coast to the types of roles that are available and the salary levels that they can expect. As most of them are from very diverse backgrounds and they are often looking for their own sea change.

What is the most enjoyable experience you've had with Manpower?
I would have to say it is working with the very talented people that make up Manpower! From the Consultants to the Senior Managers, operational and back of house, I do not think anyone in the Manpower family treats their role as just a job. We have some of the most committed and passionate individuals who work for us and I truly believe that this is what makes the Manpower experience and makes us different from the rest.

What about Manpower makes you want to work here?
The opportunity that Manpower gives you to support your lifestyle when your priorities change within your own personal circumstance. I have been lucky enough to have had my career take many turns and changes during my 9 years with Manpower. Starting as a Branch Manager on the Gold Coast and 12 months later being promoted to Regional Manager, then Area Manager, then Commercial Business Manager, Brisbane. Until I myself wanted my own sea change and decided to move to the Sunshine Coast. Manpower not only supported my decision they understood it and made the transition seamless.
