We are actively engaged with our Federal Government client in Adelaide who are looking for APS6 level Program Officer to commence a initial contract till 30th June 2022 with extensions

What to expect:

Program /Project Officer is responsible for scoping, developing and supporting new program opportunities across apprenticeships and traineeships through available grants and linking existing or new programs to support the Apprenticeships Program (AASN) and other skills pathway initiatives.

Key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Identifying, developing and leading the development of project initiatives across skills and vocational education and training particularly in the apprenticeship and trainee area.
  • Provide high level admin support to working groups and staff teams when necessary.
  • Undertaking day to day management of project initiatives and program administration through to completion.
  • Working with Providers and industry groups to identify and develop skill and vocational education development opportunities leading to increased apprenticeships and traineeships or like.
  • Identifying and forging linkages across departmental programs leading to increased participant opportunities for those seeking work and existing workers including through foundation skills programs.
  • Working with a very broad range of stakeholders, incl indigenous and CALD communities and identify initiatives and increase participant pathway outcomes
  • Preparation and delivery of presentations, project summaries and articles.
  • Assistance to the AASN program administration.

About you:

Essential Skills:

  • Knowledge of the Apprenticeship system, AASN and vocational education and skills.
  • Experience in working with Commonwealth/State programs particularly the Skilling Australia and Skilling SA Fund.
  • Excellent proven communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent proven writing and presentation skills.

Desired

  • An ability to quickly acquire a knowledge of all Skills programs generally.
  • An understanding of VET, RTO`s and government skills programs.
  • Experience working with government program managers, AASN`s, industry groups and businesses to develop initiatives and proposals promoting skills pathways.
  • An understanding of government post-covid economic recovery programs across apprenticeships and traineeships.
