We are actively engaged with our Federal Government client in Canberra who are looking for APS6 level Senior Communications Officer to commence a initial contract for 12 months with 12 months extension

What to expect:

  • A strong focus on developing effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, while engaging with business areas and communications advisers on a range of communication matters.
  • Lead the coordination and preparation of meetings and forums, including preparing and distributing outreach material for conference presentations.
  • Lead the management of project team stakeholder mapping, to assist in the development and update communication policies and procedures to ensure the effective workings of the team in how we scope and engage various stakeholders.
  • Provide expertise and technical knowledge in one or more professional communications areas, including strategic communications, internal communications, online communications, events and engagement with internal graphic design and internal communications area.

About you:

  • Well-developed written skills, including editing and proof reading, as you will be developing materials for internal and external audiences in a variety of formats including intranet and internet content, publications, guidelines, presentations and emails to subscribers.
  • A detailed understanding for developing online content as a key role will be to ensure all content to be published is of an acceptable quality by ensuring it meets website design, language, accessibility and formatting standards.
  • A strong record of research and analytical skills as you will be required to develop and refine communication policies and procedures to ensure the effective workings of the team.
  • Knowledge of industrial processes, emissions accounting, regulation, energy markets, hydrogen production or renewable energy will be added advantage
  • Strong Stakeholder engagement and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Paying attention to detail, being organised and adaptable to change; including the ability to multi-task and prioritise.
