We are actively engaged with our Federal Government client in Canberra who are looking for APS5/6 level Senior Procurement Support Officer to commence a initial 6 months contract with possible extensions.

What to expect:

The position requires a person with a well-developed understanding of procurement and contract management and the ability to provide excellent customer service.

  • Apply existing guidelines to prepare, action and record general correspondence, corporate documentation, briefings, reports and proposals relating to procurement activities.
  • Develop, conduct and report on probity and quality assurance, and educate business areas on procurement compliance measures.
  • Create, review and update risk and issues assessments and related documentation for general procurement.
  • Provide technical advice to business areas on appropriate supply mechanisms for general procurement, including defining outcomes, specifications, market research, spending approvals and timeframes.
  • Assist with developing tender management plans and other procurement documentation.
  • Liaison with a range of stakeholders in a professional and appropriate manner and provide general advice, interpretation and information on procurement matters.
  • Contribute to tender evaluation processes.

About you:

  • Liaising with stakeholders and undertaking research and analysis to develop procurement documentation
  • Setting and monitoring timeframes to support the delivery of procurements
  • Interpreting and applying the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and providing associated procurement and probity advice to stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes.
  • Previous experience in procurement or contract management required.
  • Formal qualifications highly regarded.
