The primary responsibility of the Enterprise Data Modeller is to analyse and document the current enterprise systems architecture. The Organisation is currently progressing an aggressive Business Systems Transformation program. As a result, the Enterprise Data Modeller will be tasked with developing the Enterprise Data Model (current and proposed future state) as the delivery of the BST systems road-map transitions the architecture from the current state to the future state. The candidate will lead and own the end-to-end data modelling activities in consultation with the Chief Data Officer and other members of the Data Office team.


The Enterprise Data Modeller role will report to the Chief Data Officer, Data Office. The Data Office reports into the Building System Technology (BST) division. The BST is responsible for the delivery of a complex digital transformation uplift across the organisation. The digital transformation uplift will rationalise and upgrade legacy systems onto modern best-of-breed computing platforms and deliver advanced data surveillance and analytic.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Develop the Enterprise Data Model to enable a clear and common understanding of business data and information needs as part of the data strategy

2.Work with business and IT teams to build, clarify and formalise business and system data requirements, structures, relationships, and rules to optimise use of the Data & Analytic Platform

3.Analyse the enterprise systems, applications, data stores and middle-ware to produce a high-quality enterprise data modelling artefact's

4.Create logical and physical data models using best practices (standards, naming conventions etc)to ensure high data quality and reduced redundancy

5.Embed best practices for data design, governance, quality, life-cycle, security, and privacy outcomes

6.Plan and orchestrate data modelling sessions with key IT and Business SMEs

7.Collaborate with the Data Office to develop a consistent enterprise data model

Technical Skills & Experience:

1.5 year's experience in a similar role or data/information modeller position

2.Experience with interrogating enterprise systems, applications, and middle-ware processes

3.Experience with dimensional modelling, entity-relationship models using relational techniques

4.Experience using enterprise data modelling tools (i.e., EA Sparx, ERWin, ER Studio, etc)

5.Sound knowledge of data modelling practises, processes, documentation, and artefacts

6.Results driven, analytic and creative thinker, and innovative problem solver

7.Experience working in an Agile environment with minimal supervision

8.Stakeholder management

QUALIFICATIONS

Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology such as, BSc/BA in Computer Science or related discipline (Science or Engineering).
