About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Mechanic to join our team, servicing and maintaining a range of civil construction machinery in the Orange region of New South Wales.
This is a hands-on, autonomous role suited to someone who enjoys working in the field, solving problems, and building strong relationships with customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct diagnostic, repair, and maintenance work on civil construction equipment including excavators, loaders, graders, dozers, and associated plant.
  • Perform scheduled servicing, breakdown repairs, and preventative maintenance both on-site and in remote locations.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults efficiently.
  • Complete all service reports, job cards, and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and communication with clients.
  • Adhere to all Work Health & Safety (WHS) policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
  • Maintain company service vehicle, tools, and equipment in a safe and operational condition.
  • Participate in on-call or breakdown roster as required.


Skills & Experience

  • Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic / Plant Mechanic or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working on civil construction or heavy earth moving equipment.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulics, diesel engines, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair faults independently in field conditions.
  • Solid problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and manage time effectively.


Licences & Requirements

  • Current Australian Driver's Licence (essential)
  • HR licence (desirable)
  • Construction industry White Card
  • Relevant tickets (e.g. forklift, EWP) - advantageous
