The Opportunity

Working among an experienced HSE team, this Advisory role is an excellent opportunity to transition into a high-risk environment. This role requires strong skillset in building strong relationships with the operational frontlines and having the ability to be pragmatic and flexible in delivery of solutions. It has long hours of operation, which on occasion will mean an early start or a late finish - for pre-starts, toolbox or similar. You will have both a fair amount of autonomy and (much) variety in working with your (multi-)sites, spread across Melbourne and contribute to a national team of Health & Safety professionals.

One big advantage is having a great manager, which if you have a solid foundation/technical skillset, an operational background and a couple of years in a Health and Safety, who is prepared to mentor and grow you over time!!

To be successful you must bring:

  • Experience in a relevant HSE Advisor/Officer role (around 3 to 5 years). Applicants from a blue collar, high risk environments will be highly regarded

  • Experience working in a multi-site role and juggling competing priorities

  • Effective communicator, able to communicate at all levels of the organisation

  • A flexible and tenacious approach to stakeholders and the requirements of the role

  • Formal qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety, ideally Diploma or above

Critical to success will be your capacity to demonstrate agility, leadership and stakeholder management skills in a high risk business profile.
