The Role:
The Junior WHSE (Work Health, Safety & Environment) Advisor will support the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of WHSE systems across projects and operations. Working closely with site teams and leadership, the role focuses on promoting a proactive safety culture and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and company procedures.
This position reports directly to the Senior WHSE Advisor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of WHSE management systems in alignment with company policies and legislative requirements
• Support site-based risk assessments, hazard identification, and incident investigations
• Conduct routine workplace inspections, audits, and safety observations
• Help facilitate WHSE training, inductions, and toolbox talks for employees and contractors
• Maintain WHSE documentation, records, and reporting systems
• Monitor compliance with WHSE procedures, permits, and safe work practices
• Assist in the development and review of Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Job Safety Analyses (JSA/JSEA)
• Participate in incident investigations, ensuring timely reporting and corrective actions
• Promote a positive safety culture through engagement and communication with the workforce
• Provide general administrative support to the WHSE function as required
  
  Qualifications and Skills:
• Tertiary qualification or currently studying in Work Health & Safety, Environmental
  Management, or a related field
• Understanding of Australian WHS legislation and standards (desirable)
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required
• Construction or mining industry exposure (advantageous)
