Lifeguard - HMAS Cerberus (Casual)

We are seeking a reliable and safety‑focused Lifeguard to support the operations of a busy aquatic and fitness facility. This role is ideal for someone who is confident working independently, maintains high attention to detail, and is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all users.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine pool water testing and ensure chemical levels meet required standards

• Supervise pool users and provide assistance when needed

• Maintain cleanliness of aquatic areas, including sauna, pool deck, and equipment during closure periods

• Assist customers with basic gym equipment setup when required

• Operate pool vacuum and support general upkeep of all aquatic facilities

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 6 months experience as a lifeguard or pool attendant

• Strong focus on safety, cleanliness, and customer service

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Professional, reliable, and able to follow established procedures

Role Requirements

• Australian Citizen

• Valid First Aid Certificate

• Working With Children Check

• Aquatic Pool Lifeguard Certificate

• Current National Police Check (within 30 days) or willingness to obtain

• Reliable transport to and from HMAS Cerberus

• Flexibility to work a varying roster, with shifts ranging from 1 to 5 per week

Shift Times

• Morning: 06:00 - 14:30

• Afternoon: 14:30 - 21:00 Availability across both shift types is preferred.
