Location: South West Sydney, NSW

About the Company


Our client is a well-established and highly regarded volume residential builder with a strong presence across Sydney. With a substantial pipeline of work and ongoing growth, they are seeking an experienced Production Estimator to join their collaborative and high-performing team.

The Role


As a Production Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate construction estimates and costings for residential projects prior to commencement on site. Working closely with drafting, contracts administration, procurement and construction teams, you will ensure projects are delivered within budget while maintaining quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed production estimates for residential home builds.
  • Review architectural plans, engineering drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
  • Produce Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and take-offs.
  • Generate purchase orders and cost variations as required.
  • Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor pricing.
  • Ensure estimates align with company budgets, standards and construction methodologies.
  • Identify discrepancies, omissions and potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to facilitate a smooth transition from sales to construction.
  • Maintain accurate cost databases and pricing schedules.
  • Assist with process improvements and cost control initiatives.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience as a Production Estimator within a residential home building environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian residential construction methods, materials and specifications.
  • Experience using Databuild, Buildsoft or similar estimating software.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Relevant qualifications in Building, Construction Management or a related discipline are desirable.
