Manpower is actively engaged with a State Government department that is now looking for a Program Manager, Compliance and Assurance who is responsible for the day-to-day oversight and management of the Compliance and Audit team within a region. A region within COVID-19 Quarantine Victoria covers up to four accommodation sites (hotels).


This is 3-month VPS 6 role and will commence ASAP.

What to Expect:

  • Provide strategic leadership, and supervision to all staff within the Compliance and Assurance (Compliance and Assurance) team while managing staff performance through performance management and development processes.
  • Collaborate closely with Compliance managers for Compliance and Enforcement, Hotel Services, Community Accommodation, and Infection Prevention and Control groups to deliver compliance framework for CQV through policies, processes, and systems.
  • Ensure compliance obligations are captured, monitored, and reported.
  • Oversee and ensure effective use of staff resources and audit to maintain a culture of integrity and continuous improvement within the Compliance and Assurance team.
  • Respond to and resolve critical incidents and manage risks to control the spread and infection of COVID-19 by ensuring appropriate standards, governance and policy compliance.
  • Build successful partnerships at senior level with internal and external stakeholders to manage individual and broader Compliance and assurance issues, support the shared objectives of DJCS and uphold the values of the department.
  • Escalate operational/logistical and staffing issues as required including developing briefs of highly complex issues, providing options and making decisions.
  • Ensure the whole Compliance and assurance team is trained in and practising occupational, health and safety measures, including mandatory infection prevention and control processes.
  • Ensure all Compliance and assurance staff within the region are trained, have access to the appropriate processes and systems to perform their work and are kept informed about changes to the operating environment.
  • Act compatibly with and consider the Charter of Human Rights.

About you:

Technical expertise

  • Knowledge of risk management standards - an understanding of ISO 31000 is mandatory for this position.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading the administration of regulatory frameworks in a complex, risk sensitive environment.
  • Computer literate with a working knowledge of the full range of Microsoft Windows and MS Office application suite software.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications in regulation, compliance and/or enforcement desirable
  • Previous experience in leadership position
