This department is looking for two experienced Senior Data Engineers to join the team on a 12-month contract with the possibility of extending. Within this Program, a Data Analytics and Reporting project is being delivered to produce operational financial reporting from the existing system. You will be required to support the delivery of remaining project scope initially within this project, and eventually move into the wider project within the Data team stream of work.

Deliverables include:

  • Developing, designing, and maintaining data warehousing solutions for storing operational and performance data.
  • Develop and enhance the Data Model to enable a clear and common understanding of business data and information needs
  • Assisting in the conversion and creation of business reports utilising various visualisation tools over new data architecture
  • Monitoring, optimizing, & maintaining existing data pipelines
  • Identifying, designing, and implementing internal process improvements
  • Coach, mentor and develop high performing teams in a significant transformation and change program.
  • Execute on the responsibilities defined in the department's Management of IT Policy.

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

  • Demonstrated experience in systems analysis and design covering complex data modelling functional and technical specifications, system design and implementation.
  • Developing, designing, and maintaining data warehousing solutions including production of high quality data modelling artefact's
  • Experience on cloud platforms - AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Exposure to financial reporting, operational use and performance
  • Familiarity with BI and data exploration platforms (PowerBI, Tableau, etc) are highly desirable
  • Deep understanding of Agile as a methodology and mind-set complimented by a strong software development background. (Knowledge beyond just the ceremonies)
  • Extensive knowledge in the design and development of contemporary data warehouses including dimensional modelling, Extract Transform Load (ETL) programming, and Business
  • Intelligence tools, using the Microsoft Technology Stack.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Expert SQL skills including the ability to write queries and interrogate data
  • Familiarity with AWS, Informatica and Pega is desirable
  • Enthusiastic, positive, and proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • A team player who works collaboratively with cross functional teams
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, ScrumBan, SAFe)
  • Relevant tertiary or post graduate qualifications are highly desirable. Degree in Software


Engineering, Computer Science, relevant industry qualification in ETL Integration and data
model design with a focus on Data design and development.
