The opportunity:
Our client is a excellent company working across the telecommunications and utilities sectors to provide a number of key services to Australian households and businesses across the country. They have a diverse portfolio of programs and solutions through their extensive network.
They have secure contracts with large scale contracts - and have a medium to high risk portfolio across the business. It is an energising environment due to the fast pace at which they work, the number of locations across the National scope, and the multiple projects at any point.
The Role
Having a National Scope, this opportunity leads the operational HSEQ function across the company. Partnering with others in the business who will shape the HSEQ strategy, ensure operational compliance, and administration, this role is a lynchpin in dealing with the delivery teams, overseeing onboarding and managing the field networks and ensuring safe work practices are in place - both in frameworks and systems, but also on the ground. It drives a safe, efficient and sustainable work environment by applying specialist HSEQ management skills and knowledge.
Leading a team of 2, this role is responsible for coaching and advising Health, Safety and Environment across the breadth of the team. Other key functions include:
Coaching leaders across all levels of the business to build capability in effectively managing risk and quality
Communicate with Contractors to ensure Contractor Management processes and legislative compliance
Oversee incident investigations, reporting protocols and development of HSEQ Communications, toolbox talks etc
Bring insights to the business through data-based reporting and insights
Participate in the delivery of the HSEQ strategy and tactical plans through implementation programs
Maintaining accreditation's and internal audit programs

The Person and Experience
Working in a fast paced environment will require a good decision maker who is strong in building priorities and decision making environments
Experience in a Safety management/HSEQ Advisory role within a service delivery company and a large contractor base and diverse scope of work
Experience in Telecommunications, Utilities, or Industrial Services sectors
Proven ability to engage, coach and foster relationships
Experience and maturity to work in a leadership autonomous role
Working across a multi-site business
The confidence to deliver safety programs, support and advise leadership teams
Formal qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety (Diploma minimum)
