Manpower Professional is working with one of the world leaders in high power turbo charging to find an innovative, hard working Service Technician to join their Melbourne team. This company looks to the future and supports industries which are critical to powering our world.

About the role
We are seeking trade qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanics or Mechanical Fitters with experience in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of high-powered turbo charging. The role offers a good mix of both workshop and fieldwork with opportunity for interstate and international travel. Being both customer facing and team leadership focused the right candidate requires great communication and interpersonal skills. The Turbo Systems team is a small cohesive team with a good workplace culture.

Key responsibilities

  • Attend site and perform field work i.e. Breakdown, Preventative maintenance, Install and commissioning. Workshop repairs and service as required.
  • Coordinate the preparation and control of all material, equipment and documentation needed for site activities
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment, recommending changes such as new equipment or modified procedures to improve performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide recommendations to management to improve operations and customer service
  • Coordinate with the customer for documentation required, safety coordination and planning
  • Supervise service activities performed by external resources
  • Prepare all technical and work reports to be signed by customer representatives

We are looking for someone with

Technical Experience and Qualifications

  • Trade qualified Diesel Mechanic and Mechanical Fitter
  • Full Australian Drivers Licence
  • Related experience in both maintenance and commission in marine/ heavy diesel sectors
  • Experience in service within the Marine industry, specifically with exposure to heavy diesel engine


Computer Skills

  • SAP, CCRP
  • Lotus Notes
  • MS Office
  • AutoCAD

  • Leadership - the ability to technical support and training
  • Highly driven and energetic
  • Proactive self-starter with proven ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities
  • Customer focus with a positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
