Mission Statement:

This is a varied and challenging role as it encompasses service, repair, installation and commissioning work of medium to large frame turbochargers on diesel and gas engines for marine and land based power generation.

You are an experienced individual who can work autonomously but also form part of the national network. You will have mechanical trade qualifications (diesel fitter/mechanic) preferably combined with a restricted electrical license. As a minimum, you will be widely experienced in servicing large frame diesel engines and be adaptable to new equipment and technologies. Your background could be in independent power generation or marine (Naval).

Main Accountabilities:

The role offers a good mix of workshop and field work and some overnight travel is required. The team is a small cohesive team with a good workplace culture.

As this is also a customer facing role it is also expected that you will be well presented and have good customer relationship skills. You instinctively understand the commercial realities relating to service work and the importance working in an efficient, safe and organised manner. Some overnight, overseas and interstate travel is expected. Product training will provided.

  1. Field service Work / Workshop Repairs Attend site and perform field work. Ie Breakdown, Preventative maintenance, Install and commissioning. Workshop repairs and service as required.
  2. Planning Coordinates the preparation and control of all material, equipment and documentation needed for site activities, and organizes them in accordance with contractual and supplemental documentation.
  3. Conducts detailed inventories and inspections to determine necessary maintenance and repairs. Troubleshoots and repairs equipment, and recommends changes such as new equipment or modified procedures to improve performance and customer satisfaction. Provides recommendations to management to improve operations and customer service.
  4. Ensures the coordination with the customer for documentation required, safety coordination and planning.
  5. Supervises service activities performed by external resources.
  6. Maintenance and Commissioning. Performs on-site activities of maintenance and installation and commissioning according to contract requirements, applying safety health and safety, rules and taking into consideration the actual site conditions.
  7. Prepares all technical and work reports to be signed by customer representative.
  8. Refers to management for any clarification required during the service activities, and notifies the quality team of quality issues discovered.

Qualifications:

  • Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter, Diesel Mechanic
  • Current full Australian License Technical Experience / Knowledge
  • 5 years' experience in marine/ heavy diesel engine
  • Related Experience in both maintenance and project in marine/ heavy diesel sectors
  • Experience in Service within the Marine industry, specifically with exposure to heavy diesel engine

Computer Skills:

  • SAP, CCRP
  • Lotus Notes
  • MS Office
  • AutoCAD Leadership
  • Ability to provide technical support and training to a wide range of customers and staff

On offer is a salary of $92,000 - $100,000 AUD plus 10.5% superannuation plus a maximum bonus potential of 10% of the base income.
