The Role:
We are seeking a motivated and capable Civil Project Engineer to join our growing team and play a key role in the successful delivery of civil construction projects. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects from early stages through to completion, ensuring outcomes are achieved safely, on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality.
Working closely with the Site Manager, you will be actively involved in project programming, client coordination, and day to day execution, collaborating with subcontractors and the wider site team to drive progress on site. You will also be responsible for monitoring project costs, managing financial performance, and maintaining momentum against agreed programs to ensure milestones and deadlines are met.
This role suits an engineer who enjoys being hands on, takes pride in delivering results, and thrives in a collaborative, fast paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop cost effective engineering solutions for the project/ contract. Review project/ contract documentation and raise technical queries as required.
- Provide engineering / technical advice to on-site Supervisors and other project staff involved in the execution of works
- Assist with planning and scheduling the scope of work for the project/ contract. Organise project resources and equipment as directed to meet project or contractual requirements
- Identify hazards and advise on safety procedures. Actively monitor work practices to ensure adherence to correct procedures and standards for safety and environmental performance.
- Work in accordance with quality assurance procedures, client specifications and ISO requirements
Qualifications and Skills: - Extensive experience in Project Engineering on large-scale construction projects for similar companies
- Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant discipline (Civil)
- A methodical approach, high attention to detail and take responsibility for the quality and accuracy of own work
- Be delivery focused, with a high level of self-motivation and drive to support the project in delivering to a tight schedule
- Well-developed communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach with the ability to foster interpersonal relationships across all levels
