This leading education provider requires a Systems Administrator (Networking and Security Infrastructure). To join the Technical Operations team on a contract until December 2022. The role will provide support and coordinate network and security management to ensure consistent, reliable network service delivery to the organisation. You will be responsible for working professionally with employees at all levels across the organisation and liaising with relevant external stakeholders, including Cisco, DELL and Palo Alto.

Your Responsibilities include:

  • Participate in the development lifecycle to ensure that the required outcome is achieved
  • Actively engage in the implementation of strategic plans to improve the client experience
  • Manage and perform the administration of databases
  • Build and maintain effective business relationships

The Qualifications and Expertise required are:
Qualifications

  • Advanced Diploma/Degree of Information Technology, or equivalent workplace experience.
  • Vocational qualifications in the following disciplines or equivalent workplace experience:
    • Microsoft Office 365/Azure
    • Cisco Networking (CCNA) (CCNP)
    • Project Management
    • ITIL Practice Management

Expertise
1. Server Management: Demonstrated experience in managing a complex server fleet which provides a wide range of services to a decentralised organisation.
2. Storage/Back Up Administration: Demonstrated experience in managing a Storage Area Network and other storage systems; and in implementing and maintaining major backup systems and integrating backups into the technical strategy for system recovery.
3. Cabling Systems: Extensive experience in maintaining various systems including cabling practices.
4. Networking Platforms: Knowledge of and experience in VOIP networks, LAN and WAN technologies, Switching and routing protocols, network design.
5. Problem Solving: Proven ability to analyse issues and seek relevant information from stakeholders to identify and propose workable solutions to problems.
6. Initiative and Accountability: Proactive self-starter and seizes opportunity and acts upon them whilst taking responsibility for own actions.
7. Conceptual & Analytical Ability: Ability to use analytical and conceptual skills to reason through problems and has creative ideas and can project how these can link to innovations. Ability to reflect on experience and is open to new ways to improve practice.

8. Organising and Planning: Ability to identify processes, tasks and resources required to achieve outcomes, prioritises critical activities and finds ways to overcome any barriers.
9. Client Centricity: listens to clients and actively seeks to continuously improve to meet client needs to ensure customer satisfaction. ITIL practices to provide a support the delivery of services.
