About the Role:

As one of the Reserve Transition Coaches you will be responsible for delivering coaching and administrative support services to ADF reservist members in the process of leaving the ADF.

Assisting them in their exit with the view to maximise their chances of a successful transition to civilian life. The Defence Force Transition Program provides access to specialist advice, paid leave and training to support members and their families in their transition.

About You:

You have demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment providing administrative support with a strong focus on customer service. You have exceptional attention to detail and experience in Case management. You have a professional approach with the ability to influence whilst managing a high volume of cases at any one time. You have a Passion for helping others and providing outstanding service.

The maintenance of accurate case/client data records and the provision of quality client service are essential to this role. Intensive workplace training to learn standardised coaching practices will be required to be undertaken.


Responsibilities

  • Point of contact for enquiries by phone, electronically or in person from internal and external stakeholders (ie. Transition Coaches, transitioning members, current serving members etc.).
  • Build and sustain relationships with team, stakeholders, and actively manage and maintain continuous improvement of the coaching support process for transitioning reserve members
  • Reporting updates on the communication, coordination and case management of transitioning reservists.
  • Conduct reservist transition case management and coaching to:

- Assess, identify and apply the appropriate level of needs based coaching support; and

- Support the reserve member through required transition administrative process (es).

  • Manage and maintain accurate records utilising the Changepoint records keeping system
  • Providing advice on assistance such as Defence Force Transition Program (DFTP) and benefits that assist ADF Members to prepare for civilian employment;
  • Advising and guiding ADF members through the administrative processes;
  • Assist in preparation of written briefs, enquiry outcomes, and other correspondence as required relative to reserve transitions.

To succeed in the role, you will need:

  • Australian Citizen - this is a requirement of the role
  • AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance required or ability to obtain and uphold
  • A proven ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally, both in person and using digital platforms
  • Experience with the Reserve workforce and or knowledge and understanding of Reserve service requirements highly advantageous
  • High-level personnel / people focused experience
  • Ability to work in a blended workforce balancing capability requirements
  • High-level administration skills with a focus on policy, governance and quality assurance
  • Case Management experience
  • Ability to consistently execute on daily responsibilities with minimal oversight

Defence Member Family Support TCS (Transition Coaching and Support) (DMFS TCS) offers a broad range of programs and services to help Commanders, Australian Defence Force members and their families manage the military way of life. TCS supports Defence families' self-reliance and increases the capacity of the wider community to support the needs of Defence families.

Australian Defence Force (ADF) TCS provides administrative support to all permanent ADF members separating from the military or transferring to the reserve force.
