Purpose of the Position
The Project Manager, Major Projects plays a pivotal role in leading the successful delivery of key initiatives across Electricity Networks (EN). This position is responsible for driving projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with the highest standards of quality and governance.
Operating within the PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) framework, the role requires strong leadership, strategic oversight, and a commitment to excellence to achieve project outcomes that support organisational objectives.

Project Manager - Major Projects (Transmission & Substations)


We're looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of major projects across transmission and substations.
This is a hands-on role where you'll own projects from concept through to completion driving outcomes across scope, safety, budget and timelines.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage major transmission and substation projects end-to-end (in-house delivery)
  • Lead planning, design, procurement, construction and commissioning phases
  • Drive delivery to meet time, cost, quality and safety targets
  • Manage internal teams, contractors and key stakeholders
  • Oversee tenders, contracts and procurement activities
  • Control budgets, forecasts, variations and reporting
  • Identify and manage project risks and issues proactively
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental and governance standards

What You Bring

  • Proven experience delivering transmission and/or substation projects
  • Strong background managing projects from start to finish (not just phases)
  • Solid understanding of construction methodologies in utilities/infrastructure
  • Commercial mindset with strong cost control and reporting skills
  • Experience working with contractors and managing stakeholders
  • Engineering qualification (or similar) preferred
