    Manpower is currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for a Global Telecommunications company role based in Sydney. Our client assists communications and content providers create new revenue streams and drive costs out of their service delivery infrastructures. In this position you will be assisting the company transition away from traditional Telecommunications engineering Manufacturers to White Box Open Source solutions in the devOps/cloud innovation model.


    This position will allow for 50 % work from home with the occasional travel across AUS/NZ China and India. We are ideally looking for a candidate who can commit for a 6 month period based in Sydney on in a full time capacity with a asap start date to commence the project.


    Position:
    You will be assisting the client through a very exciting transition period providing technical sales support to key customers. To be successful in this position you must have an excellent understanding of modern data centre architecture and hands on experience with datacentre migration to NFV architecture/SDN controlled environments. The go-to technical expert you will work closely with the sales, product management and engineering teams to assist with customer requirements to provide innovative optimized technical solutions. A large part of your role will support the sales team with any technical queries, product management on customer trends and pre sales technical queries (customer meetings, product demonstrations, and bids/RFx responses). You will provide customer training and assist customers as they design their products and solutions into their networks where you will be encouraged to use a high level of creative innovation and provide solutions to problems.


    Skills and experience to be successful in this role:
    * 5 years related technical experience working with large scale clients in data centric or telecommunications environments
    * Network function virtualization (NFV) and Software defined networking (SDN) experience
    * High technical problem solver with a broad range of experience of IP networking technologies with data centre, networking design experience in a fixed or mobile/wireless content
    * Understanding of Linux, Redhat, Ubuntu, CentOS, VMWare, KVM, Amazon, Openstack and Mirantis.
    * Deep understanding of the OpenDaylight project, SND operating system platform and Openslow protocol.
    * Proven experience with products/standards/protocols including 3GPP, TR69, TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, VXLAN, VTEF, SIP, GTP, RTP/RTCP, ICE/STUN/TURN, Tail-f and RESTful interfaces
    * Data center networking, compute, and/or storage design experience.
    * Hands on experience with network diagnostic/troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark.
    * Working knowledge of mobile packet core (EPC) networks
    * Strong communication skills with proven ability to build relationships with new and existing customers, partners and internal groups
    * BA degree in related field (Electrical Engineering, software engineering and computer science).
