Job description

A leading financial institution is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join its Financial Crime Detection Reporting team. This role will support regulatory reporting and compliance analytics initiatives, particularly around AUSTRAC obligations.

The successful candidate will have strong SAS and SQL programming skills and a proven ability to work with complex datasets across multiple systems. You will play a key role in building automated reports, ensuring the quality and completeness of regulatory data, and providing insights to compliance and transformation teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain SAS scripts and automated data routines for financial crime and regulatory reporting
  • Extract, transform and load data from multiple sources (Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server)
  • Deliver timely and accurate metrics, dashboards, and reports for business and compliance stakeholders
  • Enhance and support existing data systems, reporting tools, and control frameworks
  • Engage with the Financial Crime Transformation team and other divisions to improve data performance

Key Requirements

  • Strong SAS programming and SQL development experience (3+ years minimum)
  • Skilled in data manipulation, ETL, and large-scale dataset analysis
  • Experience creating automated reports and clear visual dashboards (e.g., SAS BI, Tableau)
  • Excellent written, verbal, and stakeholder presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple data sources and ensure regulatory accuracy

Highly Desirable

  • Exposure to AUSTRAC regulatory reporting, AML/CTF, or broader financial crime compliance
  • Experience with Teradata, Oracle SQL, or SQL Server
  • Knowledge of BI toolsets and database design/development
