Job description

Our client is known for building and maintaining infrastructure across Australia.
Being a Tier 1 construction company, they standout with a difference.
They are driven by fresh ideas and opportunities with the aim to do more and do better - for our people, our communities and the countries that we work in.

They are seeking an experienced Asphalt Surfacing Foreperson to join their team and support the delivery of a range of surfacing projects across the Mackay region.

Based in Mackay, this role requires a hands-on and motivated leader who can guide and empower asphalt crews while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, cost, and timely project delivery.

In this role, you will play an active part in developing and implementing Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), as well as leading daily pre-start meetings to ensure all site requirements are met. You will also assist with planning, scheduling, forecasting, and procurement activities, and oversee the effective management of materials, equipment, personnel, and subcontractors to ensure smooth and efficient project execution.

Requirements:

  • Proven technical knowledge and track record of delivering profitability on asphalt laying projects.
  • The ability to positively influence and lead a team.
  • A proven commitment to site safety.
  • Strong organisational skills with the demonstrated ability to work within tight deadlines.
  • Computer literacy with demonstrated ability to complete daily reports.
  • Short-term stays and working away from home within the Mackay Whitsunday District will be required.

If you're an experienced asphalt leader looking for the next step in your career, we'd love to hear from you.
