Administrator - Payroll Services


Purpose of the Role
Provide accurate, timely payroll services and deliver helpful customer support to Ambulance Victoria employees, ensuring all work complies with legislation and industrial agreements.


Key Responsibilities


Payroll Processing


  • Complete end-to-end payroll tasks accurately and on time.

  • Process payroll adjustments, tax, super, and employee changes.

  • Set up new employees in the payroll and timecard systems.

  • Handle manual calculations such as long service leave and OTE.

  • Process WorkCover, redundancy and termination payments.

  • Maintain confidentiality and follow all payroll policies and legislation.


Quality & Improvement


  • Suggest improvements to payroll systems and processes.

  • Analyse payroll documents and apply correct terms and conditions.

  • Keep accurate records and support payroll reconciliations.

  • Identify issues early and make decisions that support staff and service quality.

Key Requirements


Qualifications & Experience


  • Relevant qualification (diploma/degree) or equivalent experience.

  • Experience in a large, award-based payroll environment.

  • Strong payroll processing and data entry skills.

  • High numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel).

  • Experience with payroll/time attendance systems (Chris21 desirable).

  • Current Victorian Driver Licence.


Other Requirements


  • Must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have valid work rights.

  • Must be able to pass police and Working with Children checks.
