About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to support a complex Defence capability program. The role will work closely with Project Managers, project teams and senior stakeholders to develop and maintain the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) while supporting project planning, monitoring and reporting activities.
This position plays a key role in ensuring project timelines remain accurate, risks are identified early, and stakeholders have clear visibility of project progress.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain and manage the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) to ensure all project activities and milestones are accurately captured.
Work closely with Project Managers and delivery teams to plan and sequence project tasks and timelines.
Facilitate planning and scheduling workshops with project teams and stakeholders.
Develop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and related scheduling artefacts.
Track project progress and update schedule activities in consultation with responsible stakeholders.
Identify schedule risks, dependencies and critical path activities, and recommend mitigation strategies where required.
Monitor schedule performance and highlight delays or variances that may impact delivery timelines.
Produce regular schedule reports, dashboards and updates for project leadership and governance forums.
Support broader project controls activities, ensuring alignment between scheduling, risk management and project reporting.
Maintain schedule documentation and ensure scheduling data is accurate, up to date and auditable.
Skills & Experience
Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining schedules for large or complex projects, ideally within Defence or government environments.
Strong understanding of project scheduling methodologies and project controls.
Experience using Open Plan Professional, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling tools.
Ability to analyse project timelines and identify risks, dependencies and critical path impacts.
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary project team.
Qualifications
Relevant qualification or certification in project management, project scheduling, or project controls.
Accreditation or demonstrated experience with Open Plan Professional or equivalent scheduling software is highly regarded.
