The Company

Established a decade ago this boutique accounting firm in Brisbane is ready to appoint a Bookkeeper to join their growing team. They are now a nationally recognised company with a strong client base. They offer a full range of accounting , taxation and GST services as well as they help establish a strategic plan that looks at where you want your business to be and exactly how you and your team can achieve this.



The Role

The Bookkeeper will work closely with the Directors and Senor Accountants to provide support and manage day to day accounting transactions. This key role is crucial as it will be responsible for the company's and clients financial affairs

Duties will include but not be limited to: -

  • Managing the day-to-day accounting transactions
  • Preparing the monthly accounts
  • Liaising with the external Accountant for annual accounts and tax queries
  • Reconciliation, preparation, and lodgement of monthly or quarterly business activity statements (BAS)
  • Reconciling bank accounts
  • Managing the accounts' payable function including the processing of invoices due for payment
  • Managing the accounts' receivable function including the allocation of payments
  • Credit control of overdue payments
  • Processing payroll and other related payroll tasks
  • Basic HR administrative tasks

As the successful Bookkeeper you will be self-motivated, a strong team player, understand how to organise and prioritise your day, have exceptional communication skills and stakeholder engagement skill. As a Bookkeeper, you will be committed to personal and professional development.

Skills & Experience

  • Exprince across ERP systems
  • Experience across a wide range of accounting functions
  • End to End payroll experience
  • Strong level of accuracy & attention to detail
  • Ability to take responsibility and be accountable for workload
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a broader team
  • Ability to solve problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills
