Job description

They are seeking a motivated Finance Administrator to join their Newcastle Inner City Bypass Project Team.
The project involves 3.4kms of new four-lane divided road, interchanges at Newcastle Road, Lookout Road and the John Hunter Hospital precinct, plus upgrades to connecting roads, a pedestrian bridge, and an underpass.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing weekly payment run batches.
- Processing site and delivery dockets
- Purchase orders
- Supplier invoices
- Assisting with budget allocation and reviewing spend against procurement strategy.
- Ensuring actuals are accurately recorded in the monthly ledgers.
- Preparing and maintaining financial reports.
- Managing office and equipment registers.
About You:
- You are proactive, organised, and thrive in a fast-paced project environment.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Contribute to the smooth financial operation of this major infrastructure project.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in business/finance and prior experience in a similar role within a construction or project environment.
- Experience with financial data entry in online systems (JD Edwards highly regarded).
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (intermediate level).
