The Role

As the Finance Manager, you will report to the Chief Financial Officer and be tasked with end-to-end accountability for the Australian finance function. You will also support the CFO directly, gaining exposure to her work and support her outside of BAU type work through the review and evaluation of financial frameworks, systems and controls and implement effective change to streamline, improve and mitigate risk. Moreover she would seek your interest or expertise in improving budgeting and forecasting cycles, enhancing Board and Management reporting thus supporting an envious strategy and board approved appetite for continued growth and development. Your duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • The production of timely and accurate monthly financial statements and management reports including commentary
  • Coordinate and prepare the year end statutory accounts and ensure that all reporting obligations are met
  • Prepare weekly cash flow forecast, sales forecast and variance analysis, and stock reports with commentary
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly board reporting
  • Managing the external audit processes
  • Oversee and deliver the annual budget and quarterly forecasting process
  • Monitoring cashflow and treasury ensuring all cash reporting obligations of the investors are met
  • Maintain appropriate internal financial controls and risk management safeguards
  • Oversee and lead the R&D tax, payroll and AP functions
  • Assist with internal projects and ad hoc tasks as requested from time-to-time

About You

Success in the role requires demonstrated understanding and experience in SME's going on a growth trajectory and a preference to be hands-on. You enjoy leading a small team and proactively looking for process improvement, automation and efficiency gains. This role will deputise for the CFO when on leave and requires a highly motivated, professional who is positive, polished and will enjoy this additional responsibility.

Skills & Experience

  • CA/CPA qualified with relevant experience as a Team Leader or Finance Manager
  • Big 4 or second tier Public Practice experience is desirable but commercially qualified candidates with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply
  • Ability to be hands-on with proven experience driving financial performance across a team-oriented environment
  • Experience in the development and maintenance of financial systems, internal controls and financial policies and procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong ability to collaborate with and influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter who can build relationships across the business
  • Passionate with high achievement drive and a can-do attitude
