  • Conduct risk assessments and support incident investigations.
  • Apply Safety-II principles, focusing on how work is actually performed.
  • Deliver pragmatic, solutions-focused advice across chemical, biological, and physical hazards.
  • Support hazard identification, risk controls, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with audits, inspections, and safety communications.
  • Travel to multiple campuses as required.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in complex, high-risk environments such as:

  • Strong understanding of Safety-II principles and stakeholder-led safety approaches.
  • Proven ability to build trust and influence without authority.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in dynamic environments with competing priorities.

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualification in HSW or related discipline.
  • Experience within higher education or research settings.
  • Understanding of psycho social risk and well-being frameworks.

Why Apply?

  • Attractive hourly rate based on experience (HEW 7 or 8), plus casual loading and super.
  • Opportunity to make a real impact in a leading research and teaching environment.
  • Collaborative, people-focused culture.
  • Work in diverse, high-tech STEM environments.
