Job description
Linen Assistant
Linen Assistants help ensure high-quality linen is delivered to hospitals, aged care facilities, and commercial clients. The role is hands-on, fast-paced, and involves physical tasks. Staff work across different production areas, including soiled sorting, washroom, finishing, ironing and packing. Training is fully provided.
You may also work occasionally at the Canberra Hospital, UC Hospital or North Canberra Hospital.
Work roster: Monday-Saturday, rostered between 6am-6pm, with occasional overtime.
Key Duties
Make sure all linen meets quality standards.
Follow safety procedures at all times.
Take part in on-the-job training across the laundry.
Be ready for physical work (standing, lifting, carrying clean and soiled linen).
Report hazards or incidents to your Supervisor or Leading Hand.
Work well in a small team on a set roster.
Handle both clean and soiled linen efficiently.
Operate industrial machines (washers, ironers, folders).
Work at different locations when required.
Accurately complete production data sheets.
Help with customer stocktakes and provide good customer service.
Suggest improvements to the laundry process.
Support a positive team culture.
Be flexible with hours (rostered 7am-7pm, Monday-Saturday) and available for overtime/public holidays if needed.
Rotate through other linen rooms (Canberra Hospital, UC Hospital, North Canberra Hospital) when required
