About the role
Reporting to the Site Operations and OH&S Management team, this role will form part of the leadership team at Essity's Springvale site and will require onsite presence, 4 days per week. This role will be instrumental in managing and leading the implementation of Essity's Health & Safety Strategy, fostering a proactive safety culture that puts employees first at the heart of everything they do and enabling you to influence and educate positive changes and drive best practice across safety and compliance.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • OHS Management System Implementation.
  • Lead the development and achievement of the Annual OHS Plan.
  • Drive Critical Risk Reduction initiatives.
  • Coaching around Risk Assessments and Incident Investigations.
  • Internal Audit Program: Take charge of the Internal Audit Program to ensure compliance with OHSMS, regulatory requirements, and maintain ISO 45001 certification.
  • Safety Leadership: Demonstrate safety leadership through our I Care Leadership Program, driving a positive and initiative-taking safety culture.
  • Data Analysis and Communication: Analyse and communicate KPIs and OHS statistics, providing recommendations for improvements to enhance our culture, reduce injury risks, and ensure compliance.

You will need to have:

  • A strong knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
  • Cert IV and or a Diploma in OHS and at least 3-5 years relevant experience in either a Safety Coordinator or a Safety Advisor role with demonstrated success in safety leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience with Safety Management Systems.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in manufacturing, FMCG or logistics environments highly recommended.
  • This role is a 0.8 FTE | 4 days per week, onsite based role reporting to the Operational Site Manager.
