Job description

Our client's mission is to build and deliver specialised services to empower Aboriginal young people. They are currently seeking a highly organised and initiative-taking Coordinator to support their growing business.

About the Role

  • As the programme Coordinator, you will:
  • Work closely with the Program Manager and our Mentors to coordinate all employment placement activities
  • Lead by example to initiate, arrange and deliver the essential elements of the program
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with local businesses, schools, training organisations, employment service providers, youth and community organisations, Aboriginal participants, their families and the wider community
  • Support the journey of Aboriginal identity, cultural education and connection to prosperous careers

Essential criteria:

  • Understanding of the strengths and challenges experienced by local Aboriginal people and commitment to supporting positive change
  • Proven experience coordinating employment placement programs or transitioning candidates from vocational training into paid employment
  • Strong organisational, record-keeping and data management skills
  • Experience supervising staff, monitoring outcomes and supporting reporting requirements
  • Ability to work in a culturally safe and supportive manner
  • Team-oriented approach and excellent stakeholder engagement skills
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Satisfactory National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Qualifications and/or experience in Aboriginal Mentoring, Employment Services, Vocational Training, Education, or an industry trade background with supervision experience (highly desirable)
