About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and highly organised Grants Officer to join their team and support the delivery of the City's Grants and Sponsorship programs. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the integrity, compliance, and smooth facilitation of grant rounds, stakeholder coordination, reporting, and customer service.
Reporting to the Manager Grants, you will be responsible for overseeing designated grant programs and working collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. This is a dynamic position suited to someone with excellent administration and communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and strong time management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational assistance to the Manager Grants and Grants Program Coordinator.
  • Facilitate grant rounds, assessments, acquittals, and maintain process integrity.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and communications.
  • Prepare and manage grant and sponsorship agreements.
  • Monitor grant contracts, payments, and acquittals, and report on progress.
  • Coordinate key grant-related tasks with internal stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement of grants systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain and update the City's Online Grants Management System.
  • Manage files in accordance with council's information management policies.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports and contribute to corporate and council reports.
  • Conduct research into organisations seeking support.
  • Respond to internal and external grant enquiries via mail, phone, email, and in-person.

Key Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications at a degree level in a relevant discipline such as Social Development, Project Management, Commerce and / or demonstrated equivalent competencies gained through experience.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Proficient administration and customer service abilities.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - especially Excel.
  • Demonstrated experience working in grants administration or similar programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and independently as needed.
  • Pass a National Police Check.
