Job description


A well-established financial services provider is seeking a Hardship & Collections Consultant to join their Customer Assist team on a 12-month contract. This role plays a key part in supporting customers across the full delinquency lifecycle-both pre- and post-write-off-through proactive and empathetic engagement.


The successful candidate will help customers bring their secured and unsecured accounts back into order, working across a range of product portfolios. The role involves both inbound and outbound customer contact, using negotiation, problem-solving, and hardship assessment skills to reach positive and sustainable resolutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contact customers via inbound and outbound channels to recover overdue balances
  • Assess individual financial situations and apply suitable solutions, including hardship assistance or third-party financial advice referrals
  • Use available tools and systems to monitor customer circumstances and account performance
  • Work within credit and compliance frameworks to deliver fair and timely outcomes
  • Collaborate with internal teams and participate in continuous improvement initiatives

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in financial services
  • Strong negotiation and decision-making skills with a focus on customer outcomes
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation, credit policy, and internal procedures
  • High attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities
