Leader, People and Culture (HR Lead)

This is a senior HR role supporting the leaders and staff across the organisation. You'll be the go-to person for all things HR - from recruitment and onboarding to managing staff performance, workplace health and safety, and helping with organisational change.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  Be a trusted HR advisor to managers and executives.
• 
  Oversee recruitment, staff onboarding, and training.
• 
  Support staff performance and development.
• 
  Handle employee issues like complaints or disciplinary matters.
• 
  Lead HR projects, such as changes to how teams are structured.
• 
  Promote a positive and safe workplace culture.
• 
  Stay up to date with government policies and update HR procedures as needed.

Key Skills & Experience Needed

• 
  Experience in a senior HR role.
• 
  Knowledge of public sector HR rules and awards.
• 
  Comfortable using systems like SAP (or similar HR software).
• 
  Strong people skills - able to guide managers and support teams.
• 
  Tertiary qualifications in HR or similar field (or equivalent experience).

Challenges in the Role

• 
  Balancing many tasks across different teams.
• 
  Helping managers take ownership of staff performance and engagement.
• 
  Staying across changes in government HR rules and policies.

Who You Work With

• 
  Internally: You'll support executives, corporate services, and other staff.
• 
  Externally: You'll liaise with GovConnect, NSW Government agencies, and HR service providers.
