Kitchen Hand - Puckapunyal (Military Base)

$32.31 per hour + Super | 30-38 hours per week

We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Kitchen Hand to join a busy catering operation located at Puckapunyal Military Base. This role suits someone who works well with limited supervision and takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment.

About the Role

You'll be supporting chefs and kitchen staff in the day‑to‑day operations of a high‑volume kitchen. The role involves a mix of cleaning, food preparation assistance, and general kitchen support.

Shifts are rostered across 7 days, between 9:00am and 7:30pm, with either two 30‑minute breaks or one 1‑hour break per shift. Hours will generally range between 30-38 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including washing dishes and equipment
• Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks
• Receive, check, and safely store deliveries
• Support daily kitchen operations as required
• Follow all kitchen hygiene, food safety, and WHS procedures

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience as a kitchen hand or in a similar hospitality role
• Ability to work a flexible roster across weekdays and weekends
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
• Comfortable working with limited supervision
