Our client is proudly Australia's leading steel manufacturing and distribution company.
They are currently seeking a dependable and safety-minded Labourer to support cleaning operations of shredders and related equipment at their recycling facility. This role plays a key part in maintaining efficient processing of recyclable materials, reducing downtime, and ensuring a safe, clean working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily and periodic cleaning of industrial shredders, conveyors, and sorting equipment.
  • Remove metal, plastics, wires, and other recyclable debris from shredders and screens
  • Use hand tools and light power tools to dislodge and clear material buildup
  • Assist in scheduled equipment shutdowns for deep cleaning and inspections
  • Maintain cleanliness of surrounding work areas and walkways to reduce slip/trip hazards
  • Handle recyclable waste responsibly and separate materials as per facility guidelines
  • Complete cleaning checklists, logs, and report issues to supervisors promptly
  • Support other general labour and housekeeping duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods
  • Strong attention to detail and quick reflexes
  • Comfortable working in environments that may be dusty, noisy, or involve repetitive tasks
  • Previous experience in a similar role (manufacturing, recycling, mining) is a plus
  • Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and team-oriented
  • Forklift ticket
  • Pass pre-employment medical and Drug and Alcohol screening
  • It is essential you have your current Driving Licence and reliable transport.
