We are seeking a skilled and reliable Seamstress or Tailor to support garment alterations and uniform maintenance within a structured correctional facility environment. This role suits someone who is confident working independently, attentive to detail, and committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety, and accountability. You will contribute to the smooth operation of daily activities by ensuring all clothing and uniform requirements are met efficiently and securely.

Responsibilities

• Complete garment alterations, repairs, and uniform adjustments in accordance with facility standards.
• Measure and assess clothing items accurately to determine required modifications.
• Operate industrial and domestic sewing equipment safely within a secure environment.
• Maintain accountability for tools and equipment in line with correctional facility protocols.
• Work collaboratively with staff to ensure timely completion of sewing and alteration tasks while adhering to all security procedures.

Required Skills and Experience

• Formal training or recognised qualifications as a seamstress or tailor.
• Demonstrated ability to work safely and responsibly within structured or regulated environments.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work independently while following established procedures.
