With a medium to large Health and Safety function, they are undertaking a continuous improvement approach to developing better methods, frameworks and partnerships to ensure Health and Safety is of the highest priority - both in design and delivery.
Reporting into a General Manager, this role is a link between the corporate Safety function and the Safety operations team.
The Opportunity
A successful delivery of this role will ensure a robust oversight of safety standards when brought into practice, including working effectively with the Safety Management System. You will take responsibility for the delivery of the Safety Assurance function, ensuring that the audit program and activity supports the Safety Performance and Culture. Included will be oversight of tools and methodologies, and continuing to sharpen the design and delivery.
The role will broaden your scope in the area of Business Resilience and Emergency Management - ensuring the organisations Crisis Management and Incident Response capabilities are of high quality and robust. This includes development and maintenance of appropriate frameworks and activities that underpin successful implementation. And also currently include a number of elements in response to the Covid-19 response.
Underpinning the above will be a significant contribution to the Safety Management System to underpin the above programs of work.
You will lead a small and effective team, skilled in the areas of Safety Analysis and Business Resilience.
The Person
To be successful in this role you area seasoned professional in Health and Safety, with experience that covers Safety Systems and Assurance. This will ideally include experience in sectors such as Transport, Oil and Gas, Mining - or similar. Exposure and responsibility for Business resilience and Emergency Management, and ideally have been a part of the Covid-19 response of your current company.
Ideally you will be skilled in driving change through a large (and complex) company that requires continuous improvement. You have a collaborative approach and partner with senior leadership effectively and the operational teams.
Because of your approach and your methods of implementation, you develop and grow those around you and through the organisation to be more skilled and effective over time.
You also have an approach that allows you to take complex information and simplify it for your audience.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in OHS or similar will be important, to support your seasoned career to this point.
