The Role

As the Accountant, you will report to a talented, technically astute leader, who is eager to expand the finance team with your assistance. The duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Month end process including general ledger journal, balance sheet reconciliation and Profit and Loss
  • Cashflow reporting and management
  • Maintenance of fixed asset register
  • Reconciliations of general ledger, balance sheet and bank accounts
  • Overseeing of Accounts staff and ensuring data/ journals are correct and accurate
  • Tax and compliance requirements
  • System improvement and driver of efficiencies
  • Month end review, commentary, reporting and analysis on programs
  • Review payment runs and aged debtors
  • Preparation of grants and financial acquittals
  • Tax compliance - IAS/FBT/BAS
  • Assisting with budgeting and forecasting for the various businesses and programs
  • Strong focus on streamlining systems, automation, and process improvements


About you

The successful Accountant is a champion of continuous improvement and innovation. You operate with a view to progress the business by acting reasonably and efficiently when dealing with complex decision making. It's imperative that alongside developed technical ability you also possess strong ability to communicate effectively to reports, peers and colleagues.


Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualified in Finance or Accounting
  • Completed or pursuing CA/CPA
  • Ability to work well autonomously
  • The ability to develop strong working relationships
  • Evidence of a value based approach to execution of deliverables
  • High levels of personal energy to drive a customer service and business partnering mindset
  • Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to maintain exceptionally high levels of accuracy in preparation and presentation of data
