The Company
Australia's largest infrastructure service company, this ASX listed organisation focuses on delivering all projects with the highest level service. With a workforce more than 30,000 strong in Australia, they are looking for an Accounts Team Lead to join their successful Accounts Team on an initial 3 month contract, with high chance for extension or permanency, in their Melbourne office.

The Role

As the Accounts Team Lead, you will be responsible for supervising and mentoring the Accounts Team in all Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. You will mentor and develop the team, and report in to the Finance Manager who is based in Sydney. You will manage a team of 6 Accounts officers, 2 permanent team members and 4 temporary. As the Accounts Team Lead you will communicate strongly with the team and know what each of them is working on, as well as providing support when needed.

Duties will include but not be limited to:-

  • Supervising the Accounts Team
  • Allocate work to the team daily in an equal and fair way
  • Communicate with the team and address any issues they may have
  • Clear through historical invoices
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders on the status of invoices
  • Work closely with the Finance Manager to provide status updates on the projects
  • Other ad hoc supervisory tasks as directed

About You

As the successful Accounts Team Lead, you will be a strong communicator, passionate about mentoring a team. You will have supervisory or management experience, and will be familiar working with multiple stakeholders. Accounts team Leas you will be a strong leader, good problem solving and delegating duties and responsibilities. You will be able to confidently manage and navigate multiple priorities including historical invoices. You will have high-level time management skills.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years experience in an Accounts Payable supervisory role
  • Experience in Accounts Receivable
  • Experience managing a team
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • High-level organisation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • SAP experience
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
