They are currently seeking to appoint a Commercial Superintendent in a broad, commercially focused role.

***This role is located in Braidwood, NSW***

The Role

Reporting to the General Manager and working with the finance team, you will be responsible for the preparation of financial and management reports, the provision of timely, accurate and pertinent analytical information including the compilation of forecasts, and the annual budget plans. The position is accountable for accurate application of correct tax treatments for transactions related to FBT, GST and income tax to ensure compliance. The position will be responsible for the maintenance of the operating entity's financial control environment in compliance with their policies and procedures.

This position is also accountable for the safe operations and supervision of site stores and procurement activities and is required to support the Group's internal and external audit activities.

The duties and responsibilities of the role will include but not be limited to:-

  • Preparation of financial reports
  • Posting of monthly journals, including physicals
  • Complete monthly timetable and monitor and record performance
  • Complete monthly general ledger reconciliations
  • Accounting for fixed assets cycle
  • Prepare monthly KPI management report and provide insightful analysis to the management team
  • Coordinate, facilitate and participate in cost review meetings
  • Continuous monitoring and improvement of relevant, timely and robust reporting
  • Compilation of budget, forecast and LOM plans
  • Develop, maintain and apply policies and procedures relevant to role
  • Ensure compliance with GST, FBT and Income Tax regulations
  • Prepare FBT return and royalty returns, with maximised outcomes were applicable
  • Accurate maintenance of the Tax Fixed Asset Register
  • Ensure accurate and timely response to ABS surveys, as required
  • Liaise with external and internal auditors as required

Skills & Experience

  • CA/CPA qualified
  • Experience working in the mining sector
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with Pronto, Redmap, Adaptive (or similar) essential
  • Demonstrated knowledge of business planning, warehousing, and procurement to pay processes
  • Ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders and manage custodial relationships
  • Experience in managing and leading teams
