Job description

We are looking for an experienced Data Architect to join our clients Sydney team. This is a senior role requiring both technical depth and business acumen, with responsibility for designing and delivering scalable, high-performance data solutions across on-premises and Azure cloud environments.

The role is an initial 6 month contract paying $572.74 per day plus super.



Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement end-to-end data architecture across on-premises and Azure cloud platforms.

  • Lead data migration and modeling activities to support enterprise transformation initiatives.

  • Provide expertise in data governance, management, warehousing, archiving, retrieval, and security.

  • Oversee the technical delivery of data integration initiatives from analysis through to deployment.

  • Review and optimise existing data warehouse architecture, ETL processes, and data flow designs.

  • Develop and maintain documentation, including architecture diagrams, data dictionaries, and metadata.

  • Stay across emerging technologies and trends in data analytics and warehousing, ensuring best practice adoption.



Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in data architecture or related senior technical roles.

  • Strong SQL Server expertise and in-depth knowledge of database systems.

  • Proven experience in delivering large-scale, complex data solutions.



Mandatory Skills

  • Technologies: SQL, SSIS, Informatica, Big Data technologies

  • Databases: SQL Server, Oracle

  • Reporting Tools: Power BI

  • Expertise: ETL processes, data mapping, data modeling, and warehousing concepts
