Our client is well-known and respected for providing end-to-end engineering, construction and maintenance services within, rail and transport, communications and technology systems, oil and gas, power, renewables and resources, water and defence markets. They are seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to start asap!
Key Responsibilities:
- Disassemble, inspect, requalify, HME/Locomotive components (wheel motors, alternators, traction motors, cartridges, blower, radiator fans
- Measure and inspect critical journals/bores
- Requalification inspections of bearings and pinions
- Assembly of HME components including
- Component preparation
- Component installation
- Bearing installation
- Quality checks throughout assembly
- Use of iPad to manage job progression
- A strong commitment to maintaining a safety environment
- In-house training provided
To be successful for this role you will require:
- Relevant Trade Qualification as Mechanical Fitter; Mechanical Machine Repair or equivalent
- Experience in the overhaul of AC and DC traction motors.
- Experience in overhaul of alternators and / or rotating electrical equipment.
- Sound Electrical and Mechanical experience required
- Experience in similar roles working on GE or EMD motor and associated equipment is highly regarded
- High level of measuring skills and eye for detail and quality standards
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Willingness to learn
