About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Service Engineer/Industrial Electrician to join our team in Victoria. This role is responsible for installing machinery, providing breakdown service, and carrying out preventative maintenance. You will work closely with customers to ensure equipment operates efficiently and meets contractual guarantees.
The position is based in Scoresby, Melbourne, and the Service Team supports clients across the Greater Melbourne region, with some regional and interstate travel when required. The work will primarily be in the food processing and packaging equipment industries.

Reports to: Service Team Leader
Salary & Benefits:
- Competitive salary + 12% superannuation
- Tools of the trade (TOT) package valued at $19,000 - includes fully maintained company vehicle and tools.
- Overtime and weekend work paid in accordance with the applicable award at penalty rates
- Monday to Friday, 7.5 hour days - flexibility required for overtime to ensure customers remain operational
- Overnight stays organised and funded by the employer where required
Role Purpose:
This role will work as part of a high-performing service team, responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and breakdown servicing of food processing and packaging equipment. The position suits a qualified Industrial Electrician with a strong background in FMCG, food, or packaging environments.
Key Equipment & Systems:
- End-of-line packaging equipment
- Frying systems
- Conveyor systems
- X-ray inspection systems
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, commission, maintain, and service a wide range of food processing and packaging machinery
- Respond to machine breakdowns promptly, diagnosing and rectifying faults efficiently
- Install machines, attachments, and components to meet contracted guarantees
- Provide on-site training to customer personnel post-installation/commissioning
- Conduct preventative maintenance programs as requested
- Survey equipment and recommend repairs, upgrades, or rebuilds to maintain optimal operating condition
- Maintain accurate reporting and documentation using Microsoft Excel and Word for work orders, scope of works, and project management
Candidate Profile:
- Vic unrestricted Electrical Licence
- Industrial electrician with proven experience in FMCG/food/packaging environments
- Strong mechanical aptitude (PLC and HV experience not required)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for reporting and documentation
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills - able to engage with both internal and external stakeholders professionally
- Well-presented and capable of representing the Heat and Control brand on-site
- Valid Australian driver's licence
- Willingness to travel regionally/interstate as required
