Job description

We are recruiting Production Supervisors for afternoon shift roles across two steel manufacturing sites in Sydney's southwest. These roles suit leaders who work on the floor, support operators and keep production running safely and efficiently. Steel manufacturing experience is essential. Reinforcement steel experience is highly regarded.

About the roles
You will supervise day-to-day production, coordinate workflow, monitor output and ensure machines, materials and people are ready for each shift. You will work closely with the Production Manager and collaborate with maintenance, logistics and quality teams to maintain smooth operations.

We are recruiting for two sites with different team structures. One site manages a large team of around forty operators and benefits from experience across reinforcement or steel machine environments. The other site manages a smaller team of five and suits hands-on leaders who understand steel production and enjoy close-knit team dynamics. Your background and leadership style will determine the best fit.

Key responsibilities
* Lead and supervise production employees
* Maintain a safe, efficient and well-organised workplace
* Plan and delegate daily tasks and machine workloads
* Monitor production flow and resolve bottlenecks
* Maintain quality standards and meet customer expectations
* Support continuous improvement and 5S initiatives
* Ensure materials, stock and machines are prepared for each shift
* Participate in shift handovers and reporting
* Promote a positive, high-performance culture

Skills and experience required
* Steel manufacturing or steel production experience is essential
* Reinforcement steel experience is highly regarded
* Experience supervising or leading teams in manufacturing
* Strong problem-solving and organisational ability
* Confidence managing machines, schedules and targets
* Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
* Experience with production systems or manufacturing software
* Certificate IV in Competitive Manufacturing or Frontline Management is desirable
