Site Manager - Full Start-Up Operation

This is a rare opportunity to build a site from scratch, shape the culture, establish operational standards, and lead a high performing team within a modern, technology-driven supply chain network.

About the Role

As the Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for operational performance, people leadership, safety, and customer service outcomes. You will oversee the end-to-end start-up of the facility - including layout planning, system deployment, recruitment, workforce ramp-up, and process implementation.
Once live, you will drive daily operational excellence, lead a strong site culture, and ensure the facility operates safely, efficiently, and in line with contractual KPIs.
This role is perfect for a confident leader who enjoys building something new, thrives on challenge, and knows how to scale a successful warehousing operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the full site start-up including warehouse setup, process design, equipment commissioning, and system readiness.
• Oversee daily operations across receiving, put-away, storage, picking, dispatch, and customer fulfilment.
• Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing operations team across all warehouse functions.
• Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all OH&S, risk, and quality management standards.
• Manage customer relationships and deliver service excellence in a high-volume, KPI-driven environment.
• Shape workflows, optimise layout and material flow, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead performance management, workforce planning, and operational reporting.
• Ensure the site remains audit-ready, well-organised, and aligned with operational best practice.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and support teams to improve productivity, accuracy, and cost efficiency.

About You

You'll excel in this start-up leadership role if you have:

• Strong experience managing medium-to-large warehouse or distribution centre operations.
• Demonstrated success launching, scaling, or transforming logistic sites (or similar high-change environments).
• A hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop teams.
• Excellent operational and commercial acumen, with a track record of delivering performance KPIs.
• Strong understanding of WMS/ERP systems and data-driven decision making.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to perform root-cause analysis.
• Confidence managing customer relationships and representing the site in leadership forums.
• A safety-first mindset, with deep experience in risk management and compliance.
