Project Manager - Major Projects (Electricity Distribution)

Location: Melbourne CBD (3000) | Hybrid/field mix | Essential services

What's on offer

  • Work that won't go out of style-essential service delivery in a regulated distribution environment.
  • A mature project ecosystem with clear governance and the backing of a 24/7 Network Services operation.
  • Growth & longevity: leadership development, exposure to flagship energy‑transition projects, and varied portfolios over time.

Why you'll love this role

-Real‑world impact at scale: Help deliver critical grid projects for a network serving 1.9 million Victorian customers across 120,000+ km of lines-work that keeps communities powered every day.

-Shape the energy transition: Contribute to initiatives like community batteries, demand management, EV smart charging and microgrids as the system becomes more complex and innovative.

-Flexibility with staying power: Enjoy a practical hybrid/field/office rhythm while building tenure in a 24/7 essential network environment

- Lead with autonomy: Deliver to PMBOK standards, own outcomes, and grow through a structured Leadership Development Program

What you'll do

  • End‑to‑end major project delivery (scope, schedule, budget) to stringent HSE, quality and governance requirements
  • Run tenders and contracts for construction/major plant; drive risk management, performance reporting, and month‑end forecasting/variations (SAP experience valued)
  • Coordinate internal and subcontract resources to hit time/cost/quality targets, including brownfield works at zone/terminal substations and feeder upgrades
  • Own stakeholder interfaces-work with customers and network groups across the lifecycle (including Customer Offers when applicable).
  • Continuously improve project systems, capture lessons learned, and mentor others in best‑practice delivery

What you'll bring

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering (or related).
  • 5+ years' project management in electricity distribution/sub‑transmission or allied infrastructure, delivering to PMBOK (or equivalent) frameworks.
  • Strong commercial & financial acumen (governance, forecasting, reporting), plus proven tender/contract management.
  • Comfortable leading multi‑party delivery (internal crews + subcontractors) with a hands‑on approach to HSE.
  • Bonus points for: SAP exposure, substation/feeder project experience, and/or AIPM CPPM accreditation (or eligibility).

Where you'll work

  • Base: Melbourne CBD (3000), with travel to project sites across the network. Hybrid/field flexibility is part of how the team delivers
