This State Government Department is in the look for a Senior Project Manager, to lead a team through the Delivery and Closure phase of one of their current projects.

The project aims to replace the legacy application which is based in Lotus Notes with a modern SharePoint based solution developed for government departments. The Project Plan has been approved and is currently in delivery and under its first development sprints.

The successful candidate will continue this work by working with the vendor and the business through Agile practices to develop a fit-for-purpose solution and successfully introducing the changed business processes and the application itself into the department.

The role requires experience working with specialised contractors in the delivery of digital solutions and an ability to successfully represent the department's requirements in the delivery of project outcomes. It also requires a demonstrated ability to forge and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders including executive officers and key staff in the department, strong communication and change management skills to seek buy in and bring the organisation on board when rolling out new systems.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manage the software development using Agile methodology including Product Management, ceremonies, vendor management, sprint planning and
  • Maintain key project management products including (but not limited to):
    • project schedule
    • risk, issue and decision registers
    • project resource plan and budget
    • Project Plan.
  • Manage key project resources including Business Analyst, Test Analysts and project officers
  • Manage key decisions through the established governance arrangements and ensure governance arrangements are applied
  • Engage and collaborate with project stakeholders including user groups, business owners, technical specialists and corporate partners
  • Lead the team and business through Agile development and ensure value is added early and iteratively in line with the prioritisation
  • Throughout the life cycle, proactively identify and manage project risks and issues and ensure a focus on delivery and stakeholder value
  • Practice cultural safety by creating environments, relationships and systems free from racism and discrimination so that people can feel safe, valued and able to participate.


KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Specialist/Technical Expertise

  • Sustained track record of delivering digital solutions to complex operational business matters for government or other stakeholders.
  • Certifications in Agile methodology and related disciplines such as Product Management and Scrum Master are required
  • Certifications in project management including PRINCE2 or PMP are required
  • A degree in a suitable disciple, such as Information Systems, ICT, business and project management or are highly desirable.
