Senior Identity Engineer
Role Context
The Role is located within the Information Technology Services Branch in the Information Management and Technology Division. The function of the Information Management and Technology Division is as to provide innovative and integrated ICT Systems and information management services and support.
The function of the IT Services Branch/Cloud & Infrastructure is to manage all ITSB platforms, infrastructure solution design authority and service integration:
- Platform Management
- School & Network Designs
- Service Integration
Role Purpose
The role provides technical leadership and guidance to support projects in the deployment, documentation, and integration of services on the Department's cloud environments
It encompasses:
- Engage with key stakeholders and address the needs of the users of cloud (Iaas/PaaS) platforms (AWS & Azure), with service offerings (covering technology capability, processes, and people) that adapt in response to changing user requirements, evolving platform capabilities and strategic priorities.
- Ensuring that the cloud platforms, services, and usage meets the Departments privacy and security requirements, while seamlessly fitting into the overall Department service approach.
- Working with appropriate support teams and the platform providers to develop the processes and resources to maintain the service and then look to continuously improve to improve customer experience and/or lower the total cost of ownership.
- Putting in place appropriate capabilities to provide service performance, customer experience and usage data/reports on the operation of the platform as well as informing future developments and improvements.
- Engaging with the platform vendors so the Department is aware of future planned developments, can contribute to the platform's enhancement road-map and there is an ongoing approach to ensuring the Department achieves value, now and in the future, from the platform.

Experience
- 5+ years cloud and infrastructure experience
- Demonstrated experience implementing and managing infrastructure on public cloud platforms (i.e, AWS, Azure, VMware)
- Deep understanding of Windows Server, Linux options on cloud platforms
- At least one of:
- AWS: S3, CloudWatch, EC2, AWS networking, cloud functions
- Azure: Compute, Storage, Private endpoints, PaaS, Azure DevOps, App Services
- Desirable: Automation and coding for Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible), Oracle Cloud, Google Cloud Platform, VMware Cloud
