Their extensive portfolio encompasses diverse areas like unmanned systems, cybersecurity, and space technology. By fostering robust collaborations with local stakeholders, government agencies, and industry counterparts, they actively address intricate challenges and contribute significantly to national security priorities.

In line with their ongoing growth and operational goals, they are currently looking to hire a talented Contracts Manager. The Contracts Manager will play a vital role between this organisation and external stakeholders and will facilitate all reporting requirements, Contract Change Proposals (CCPs), Survey and Quotes (S&Q) and Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs).

The Role

You, as the Contract Manager, will play a pivotal role in driving the organisation towards its objectives, contributing significantly to its continuous growth and resounding success. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:-

  • Advise senior leaders on commercial and contract matters relevant to specific programs
  • Advise a diverse multi-disciplinary team of professionals in understanding and interpreting contractual risks and requirements
  • Plan, manage and lead commercial negotiations with customers
  • Assist with the development and review of the pricing elements of proposals and contract changes
  • Coordinate with supply chain to ensure commercial alignment among customers, the organisation, and suppliers/partners
  • Work closely with the Legal Department on terms and conditions and other risk related items
  • Propose, review and negotiate contract changes and agreements as required within the limits of authority delegated by leadership
  • Manage the proper coordination of various types of agreements and other contract/legal documents with other corporate functions
  • Plan, manage and integrate work activities to ensure compliance with corporate, contract, and legal requirements, as well as with strategic and operational goals
  • Counsel and develop employees of commercial professionals in contract management and administration practices and processes, and provide guidance based on organisational goals and company policy if requested
  • Develop highly effective relationships with internal/external clients, management, customers and other third parties
  • Develop and manage relationships with both private and public sector procurement groups and agencies

Skills & Experience

  • Degree or Diploma in Business/Contract Law
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Contract drafting and review experience with exposure to contract law
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Expertise in contract management with Department of Defence contracts
  • A record of commercial contract management experience working directly with ADF support projects
  • High emotional intelligence and good people management skills
